The Department of History organised an educational field trip the students to the Pilar Seminary Museum and the Archaeological Museum at Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Government College, Pernem.![]()

Students explored fascinating archaeological and historical artefacts, including Kadamba sculptures, ancient coins, Roman artefacts, stone tools, inscriptions, wooden temple carvings and a traditional temple chariot. The visit provided valuable hands-on exposure to Goa’s rich archaeological and cultural heritage.![]()

The field trip strengthened experiential learning and helped students appreciate the importance of archaeology, museum conservation and heritage preservation.

The Department of Sociology organised an insightful guest lecture on “Social Inclusion and Empowerment of Marginalised Communities in Contemporary India”, with Mr. Keval Naik, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, Goa University, as the resource person. The session offered students valuable insights into marginalisation, social inclusion, empowerment and social justice, making it a meaningful and enriching academic interaction.
The College Library celebrated National Librarians’ Day on 12th August 2026, commemorating the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India. The celebration honoured Dr. Ranganathan’s invaluable contributions to library science.![]()

As part of the celebration, a Book Exhibition by Bookmate was also organised, providing an opportunity for faculty members and students to explore and recommend books for enriching the College Library collection. Fr. Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Pilar, Goa, proudly organised the Inter-Collegiate and Inter-Staff/Residents of St. Andre Constituency Cross Country Race 2026-27 on 8th August 2026. The event, sponsored by Mr. Peter Palha in memory of his late brother Antonio Cruz Palha, brought together over 200 participants from 23 colleges and the St. Andre constituency.![]()
The race featured four categories: college men and women covering 9.5 kms, staff/residents men covering 7.5 kms, and staff/residents women covering 6 kms. In the Inter-Collegiate Men’s category, Somu Yadav of DMC, Assagao claimed first place, followed by Nikhil Gawde of GVM’s College, Farmagudi, Ganesh Tamburkar of Parvatibai Chowgule College, Sushant Gaonkar of Shree Mallikarjun and Shri. Chetan Desai College, Canacona, and Narayan Giri of SSA Govt. College and Research Centre, Pernem. The Inter-Collegiate Women’s race was dominated by Rosary College, Navelim, with Amanda Dias and Fatima Braganza securing first and second place respectively, while Shalu Chavhan of Govt. College, Quepem finished third.![]()
In the Staff/Residents Men’s category, Fredson Marshall emerged victorious, followed by Tanvesh Narvekar and Sam Braganza. The Women’s category saw Prissie Fernandes clinch first place, with Usha Kutiyal and Sylsan Fernandes taking second and third positions. Team championships added further excitement, with Shree Mallikarjun and Shri. Chetan Desai College, Canacona winning the Inter-Collegiate Men’s team title, followed by Govt. College, Quepem and SSA Govt. College and Research Centre, Pernem. In the Inter-Collegiate Women’s team championship, Govt. College, Quepem secured first place, Shree Mallikarjun and Shri. Chetan Desai College, Canacona came second, and Rosary College, Navelim finished third.![]()
The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Principal Prof. Annie Rajan, Administrator Dr. Fr. Fredrick Rodrigues, and Special Guest and Sponsor Mr. Peter Palha. The race was coordinated by Melinda Pereira, College Director of Physical Education and Sports, and Mr. Joston Cardoz, Instructor in Physical Education. The Inter-Collegiate and Inter-Staff/Residents Cross Country Race 2026-27 was a resounding success, blending competitive spirit with community bonding.
Honoured to collaborate with Sahitya Akademi and Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Goa, in hosting the Symposium on Women's Rebellious Literature in Konkani at our prestigious Fr. Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Pilar. The symposium brought together eminent scholars, writers, and academicians to explore women's voices, identity, and resistance in Konkani literature. The enriching discussions and literary exchange during the symposium provided students, participants, and guests with a broader perspective on Konkani literature. Grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of this meaningful academic event.
